Abstract：
We have reanalyzed reaction cross sections of ¹⁶N on a ¹²C target. The nucleon density distribution of ¹⁶N, especially surface density distribution, was extracted using the modified Glauber model. On the basis of dilute surface densities, the ¹⁵N(n, γ)¹⁶N reaction is discussed within the framework of the direct capture reaction mechanism. The calculations agree quite well with the experimental data.
